I took this like a year ago to show my favorite game on each system and it’s still accurate.
Birth By Sleep would be here too if I owned a physical copy of it.

I started the (unprecedentedly huge) demo for Soul Sacrifice and the combat is really really fun but the voice acting is awful and there are plenty of other small flaws.
Which isn’t to say the game won’t be good, and worth buying. I think it will be. But it just makes me really nervous about the PS Vita because they’ve been hyping this game up SO MUCH and touting it as the Vita’s big killer app, and it says a lot about how little content they really have to present for the Vita.
It’s such a nice system and this is such a nice game, but it’s not revolutionary. It should be the standard by now.
HEY ALL YOU PEOPLE WHO LIKE OFF AND YUME NIKKI AND STUFF, I’M GOING TO TELL YOU ABOUT A GAME CALLED OUTCRY
LISTEN HERE KIDDOS BECAUSE YOU’LL APPRECIATE THIS AMAZING GEM OF A GAME
So Outcry is this PC point and click adventure game made in 2008 by a small Russian game company, and the premise is that your brother has gone missing after doing some unknown experiments. You investigate his home and eventually recreate his experiment to figure out what happened to him, and then things become… well, you can see what it’s like above.
This game is a beautiful surreal adventure that employs dream logic and intense imagery to create a somber, uncomfortable, and ambiguous atmosphere. The story is relatively open ended and free to interpretation, with the gameplay being illogically thematic (seriously though, don’t even play this without a guide). There’s never real danger, but you’ll find yourself nervous and unsettled by the sights and sounds around you. I wouldn’t describe it as horror, but more as… suspense.
ALSO THE GAME IS GODDAMN PRETTY SO THAT’S A PLUS TOO
IF YOU LIKE INDIE ABSTRACT/HORROR GAMES, YOU’LL LOVE OUTCRY. PLAY IT.
Hrmmmmm now I want to play this…

Via chicken coop disasterThe problem with the Playstation Vita is that Sony is trying so hard to market all the little time-killing Playstation Mobile app games, and shit like the GPS features. Even big-name games like Uncharted and Assassin’s Creed Liberation opted for shitty social multiplayer modes that are much closer to Farmville than anything resembling a console game.
Nobody gives a shit about this stuff, Sony! And the people who do already have these kinds of things on their iPhones and Facebook! Nobody is buying a Vita for asynchronous multiplayer social games and apps. The few people that are buying Vitas are buying them because it has two joysticks and a beautiful HD screen capable of running console-level games. I just pray that someone in the industry realizes this and starts making use of it.
Hopefully Soul Sacrifice this month will convince developers that it’s possible to make real and original games for the thing.

[This game uses RPG Maker 2003!]
The game is still very incomplete, but here is version 0.00 of my new game Fleshchild! Things work a bit differently in this game, for sure.
Here’s one helpful tip: BE CAREFUL WHEN EXPLORING NEW DREAM AREAS. Be sure to explore every part of one dream world before moving to a new location!
Or you might miss things. Hahaha.
